Description
In late 1999, ArcelorMittal Dofasco spent $138 million to further enhance the quality and volume capabilities of its Hot Mill. These enhancements expanded our quality capabilities to keep pace with emerging customer needs for sophisticated hot rolled products. The upgrade was completed in 2001, positoning ArcelroMittal Dofasco as a North American leader in surface quality, centre line gauge control, gauge profile, and yield strength control.
Hot Rolled Sheet is manufactured by rolling continuous cast slabs to coiled product in required thickness. As a normal result of hot rolling, steel carries surface oxide (scale). This surface oxide can be removed by acid pickling when specified by the purchaser. ArcelorMittal Dofasco is also able to provide other processing including tempering, slitting, cut to length or blanking as required by customers. Other services from steel design and product application assistance to packaging and transportation can be arranged as required.
